About half of the ants died within the first day. It's only been a few weeks and I only have <10 ants left. If you plan to buy this for your child/classroom, know that these ants will die. They will not reproduce without a queen.

Didn't see a queen ant, only managed to keep the ants alive for 3 weeks. Was neat to watch how they tunnel and keep their colony clean.

There were a lot of ants that were dead on arrival. Even with carefully following the instructions, with food and watering, the ants died off pretty quickly. They were delivered October 21st and we’re now down to our very last ant on November 21st. I don’t know if there’s a such thing as a “bad batch” but I wouldn’t try to order any more just to watch them die off.

I bought this to use in my classroom with my 5th grade students. They loved learning about the ants and watching them make the tunnels. Unfortunately, shortly after setting it all up our Wisconsin weather turned colder and the heat in our school stopped working so most of our ants died, we have two left! We loved having them when they were alive!

Unfortunately, after following all of the directions very carefully, all of the ants were dead after 3. 5 weeks, which made for a very sad little boy. It was neat to watch them while they lasted, but expected and hoped they would last a lot longer than that.

99% of the ants arrived dead. Out of 2 tubes there were maybe 5 ants alive. This was for my Pre-k classroom and am very disappointed.
