I received more than 33

I received more than 33 caterpillars with no cups to put the extras in, so 5 remained in the jar in which they were delivered. 24 attached properly, 7 did not attach. 6 died before forming into chrysalides. 3 did not emerge, 1 did not emerge fully. You need to develop a better system for attaching the lids to the mesh pavilion. After messing with the velcro dots, I created hooks from staples, poked a small hole in the lids, and hung them securely on the mesh. Overall a good experience, but could have been better.

Great classroom kit

I used the kit with my kindergarten and 1st grade stem classes. They loved observing the caterpillars and getting to see the butterflies emerge. The kit came with everything you need, was well packaged, and the instructions were easy to follow. We had great success.

Repeat buyer!!

I have bought bugs from this company many times and always have great success. This time I had some bad luck, due to error not on the company's fault and they fixed the problem and left me happy as can be. I not only will always come back to this company but I love to suggest them to other teachers, and really, well, everyone! The experience is completely magical and always leaves me breathless and on the edge of my seat. If you are questioning your purchase, don't. You don't regret the experience of a lifetime this will bring you

Would buy again

Instructions were easy to follow and my students enjoyed watching the metamorphosis of a butterfly. I can’t wait to do it again next year.

Perfect kit for classrooms!

This is the perfect kit for students! Every student got their own caterpillar to name (welcome to Wiggles, Grumpy & Elsa!) some students even had twins!
Our only issue was the planned butterfly release happened during poor air quality and we couldn’t go outside to release.

Butterflies rule

I have successfully hatched and released 63 painted ladies. It's an amazing process of what they go thru to.get to a butterfly
I have them fluttering around yard all the time.

My second graders enjoyed every

My second graders enjoyed every part this science activity. From transferring the little carterpillars and making their habitats, to seeing them curl up into a “J” and turn into a chrysalis, the access each student had to observation and building a relationship to nature was incredible. Releasing the butterflies was so meaningful and memorable.

Butterflies at Epworth UMC

The whole process was very special for the children and adults at Epworth UMC. The life cycle of the Painted Lady provides wonderful context for children's messages, and everyone ooohed and aahhed when the first butterfly flew away on Easter Sunday.

20 out of 33 Butterflies Emerged

I ran out of food before all the butterflies were gone or cups and lids were gone. And I did used the scoop leveled to add food to the cups. This required doubling up the caterpillars and they didn't do so well at getting in their chrysalis this way. Many of the insects died before or during the chrysalis phase. I used to get plenty of food in the past, I have been ordering school kits for butterflies for Easter for 20 years from your company. Please include enough food if using your measuring scoop!

Exceptional! I purchased this for

Exceptional! I purchased this for my Grandson for his 5th birthday. He was so excited. They set everything up. Two days after his birthday he was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor within a few days he had his kidney removed. When he came home from the hospital the caterpillars were turning into butterflies. What a welcoming home! Delightful and inspiring. Here's my Bobby setting them free!
