Ladybug Land® With Live Ladybug Larvae

I taught Kindergarten for 38 years and have always ordered butterflies. I ordered the Lady Hugs for my grandaughter. It was a wonder experience and she had lots of ladybugs to let fly away. We will definitely do these again next year.

We got the butterflies last year, and this year it’s the ladybugs and what a thrill! Had a good number of them hatch and had the best time watching them and finally releasing them.

My bug-loving 5 year old love this! It was so fun to watch and learn how ladybugs grow. She’s already asking me for more! I was impressed with how many adult ladybugs we got.

We enjoyed watching the ladybugs change! It took them 3 weeks to completely change. A very fun project.

My son eagerly read the booklets included with the ladybug kit and really took an interest in them!! He liked the coloring sheets also!!

We are a homeschooling family and this is the 3rd year we've bought insects from insects lore. We absolutely enjoy our experience each time. Our lady bugs all hatched, and the process in watching them was a beautiful experience for our kiddos. They come fast so watch your shipping!

This is an amazing product. My kids loved watching the life cycle of the ladybugs happening right in front of their eyes. We had success with 2 tubes of ladybugs getting through the process and didn't lose any that we know of and ended up with 24 ladies bugs released.

This was fun to watch the stages of the ladybugs. We have fun releasing them too.

My kids and I absolutely loved this activity! We have done the butterflies before, adored the Easter basket with the caterpillars. This though, was so cute and every one of the larvae grew into ladybugs! My kids, (and me) loved this! Thank you guys so much for this opportunity and quality product!

Between my daughter and me, I'm not sure who enjoyed this experience more! I fondly remember watching the butterflies grow in grade school, and initially intended on doing the same at home with my kiddo. I saw the ladybug option, and since she was doing butterflies in school already, I thought this was a perfect opportunity! It was very cool to watch how quickly the larvae grew and then transformed into pupae, before finally turning into ladybugs. We ended up getting our kit on May 1 and initially had about 5-6 active larvae, but within a week even more were crawling around. I think the kit guarantees at least 5 live ladybugs, but when we released them on May 24, we easily had 11 or more!! I was very happily surprised by this! Another thing to note, which I may have missed in the listing/brochure, but these appear to be pink ladybugs, so don't wait to release them thinking they'll turn red. Also, I live in NW Missouri and found that I was putting water on the sponge more frequently than every other day, and I did more drops than recommended because the sponge could definitely handle it without flooding anything.

This product and the animals purchased with it was EXCELLENT! We had a mistake with our order and after ordering this Ladybug land and 1 extra tube of larvae, we accidentally received 2 cups of caterpillars. Not only was the company quick amd efficient to provide me with the item and animals I ordered, but they also sent me supplies to properly raise the caterpillars I received! This company clearly cares about the well-being of the animals they sell!

As for this product, specifically, I ordered the extra tube with the expectation of barely meeting the quantity guaranteed by the company (5 ladybugs guaranteed for each tube). In the end, we had an abundance of ladybugs emerge from their pupae, with 31 in total!

This was definitely quite crowded for one Ladybug land, but, obviously the ladybugs thrived and were healthy enough in the environment! I would recommend using one tube per land, if possible. My students loved watching them grow alongside the butterflies, and enjoyed the activities in the booklet. The ladybugs were shipped a day or 2 after the caterpillars arrived. This timing was PERFECT with the ladybugs emerging from their pupae over the same couple of days as the butterflies from their chrysalides. It was definitely worth the purchase and I would do it again! Luckily, the Ladybug land is sturdy and will definitely last another several uses!
