Praying Mantis Gift Set

It starts with the ootheca (egg case), then they'll hatch as nymphs, and grow into adult mantises. This "watch and wait" project introduces children to beneficial insects and patience as the nymphs wait for warm spring weather before they emerge. Hatching can take 3-12 weeks.

Helpful to Know Before You Hatch:

• Your ootheca should hatch within 12 weeks!
• Warm environments help the egg case to hatch quickly.
• Baby Praying Mantises should be released in daytime, outdoor temperatures above 50 degrees. They should not be released in snow or rain.
• Due to import/export restrictions, we are unable to ship live insects to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, APO, FPO, and DPO addresses.
