Before You Grow

  • This item comes with live caterpillars. 
  • This item does not come with a butterfly habitat. If you are looking for a complete kit with live caterpillars, please click here.
  • Our insects are sensitive to outdoor temperatures. We recommend postponing your order if daytime, outdoor temperatures are below 50 degrees or above 90 degrees in your area. If you live somewhere currently outside of this range, we recommend purchasing a caterpillar voucher.
  • Check the temperature!  It’s best to do this project when daytime temperatures in your area are between 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • We cannot ship live insects to Mexico, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO, FPO or DPO addresses.

If you’re a tax exempt customer, you may submit tax exemption documents using the steps below:
  1. Click on the Submit Certificates button to dynamically generate a tax exemption certificate though a guided flow. If you already have a completed tax document, click on the Upload Pre-Completed Certificates button.
  2. Once you submit your document(s), you will be able to proceed with checkout exempt from sales tax.
  3. Please note that if your document is expired, or is determined to be invalid at a later date, we may collect sales tax, and reach out
    to you offline to address any issues.
