Insect Lori's Butterfly Bingo

How to Play

Set Up: Punch out the cover chips and caller’s cards.

How to Play: Give each player one Bingo card and some cover chips. Players may take additional cover chips as needed during the game. The oldest player is the caller for the game. Since every butterfly begins life as an egg, each player covers the center free egg space on his card. The caller mixes up the caller’s cards and places them in a pile near the answer mat. The caller’s cards and mat must be kept out of the player’s sight. The caller selects one card from the pile and reads the letter (B, I, N, G, or O), along with the picture word. For example, the caller might say, “I, blue leaf!”

Each player then looks at the column under the letter called to see if he has the corresponding butterfly lifecycle image – in this case, a blue leaf. If he does, he cover the space with a chip.
The caller places the used caller’s card under the corresponding letter on the answer mat, so that the caller’s card will not be repeated during the course of the game. The caller and players continue to play in this fashion. When a row of 5 spaces is covered in any horizontal, vertical or diagonal direction, the player calls out “Bingo!” The first player to do so is the potential winner.

The caller checks the player’s card against the answer mat to be certain that the player has covered only the spaces that have been called. If the answer mat and the Bingo card match, the player wins. If not, the game continues.

When a new game is played, the players remove all chips on their cards. The caller removes all caller’s cards off of the mat and remixes them.
